Fruitland is located on U.S. Route 13, a major north-south highway which intersects with U.S. Route 50, a major east-west highway.

Fruitland businesses are served by Salisbury-Ocean City Regional Airport, the second largest airport in Maryland. They ship and receive products in the state's second largest port. Both are minutes away.

Currently there is no national bus service in Wicomico County however Greyhound is projected to add a new location within the next few years near Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in nearby Salisbury, MD.
